If you hadn't noticed, there are many, many tech events these days. There are people speculating on the new ways Twitter will (or won't) take over the world. There are entrepreneurs and start-ups pitching to ex members of Dragon's Den every other day, and people telling how you can (or can't) make money online.
To be honest, it all gets a bit boring after a while.
However, every once and a while, there's an event on the horizon that you can actually get excited about. There's an event where you've actually heard of the people who are speaking, and who actually know their shit.
Yes, ladies and gentleman, the Geeks are coming to London.
But these aren't just any Geeks, they're the Traveling Geeks, and they're making their way to London next week.
So who are these Geeks?

- Howard Reingold, @hrheingold
- Meghan Asha, @meghan
- JD Lasica, @jdlasica
- Tom Foremski, @tomforemski
- Sarah Austen, @pop17
- Susan Bratton, @susanbratton
- Jeff Saperstein, Creatingregionalwealth.com

The Geeks will be gathering Sunday, July 5th for a "massive Tweetup" at JuJu Bar in Chelsea. Yes, it has WiFi. (On both floors, even!) And yes, there will be a free bar. (But get there early before it runs out.)
And, even more exciting, please note that 5 of the 12 Geeks are women. Yes, it's not quite half, but 5 out of 12 is still better than 4 out of 12. Or even 2 out of 12 like most of these things are.
This is a fantastic opportunity to get to know and pick the brains of some of the finest folks in the tech and social media industry - and until June 26th, the first 150 "Friend of a Geek" tickets are half price - but only until they run out! So get moving and help support your fellow Geeks!
