Over the past few years I’ve come across several amazing videos that document the maker’s face everyday for months or even years. If you’ve always marvelled at their patience and dedication, now you can create a video of your face too, all with a handy app and minimal effort.
Back in 2006, Noah Kalina, a New York based photographer, uploaded a video to YouTube that contained all of the photos he took of his face everyday over a period of six years.
It’s been insanely popular since, with nearly 19 million views to date and several other people have created similar photo documentaries.
Noah’s story has since inspired a new iPhone app called Everyday, which basically makes it easy for you to take a photo of your face everyday. Of course you could just do it yourself with a camera. However, Everyday tries to make it as easy and hassle-free as possible, with a grid to line up your face correctly so the resulting video will be seamless, the chance to share everything online and an alarm to remind you that you need to take a photo.

Admittedly the way this app works does take something away from the beauty of the original videos. It all feels a bit fake because I know the others were all created with proper cameras by someone who was dedicated to making the project work, not just a lazy person jumping on the bandwagon.
However, there is something interesting and artistic about the resulting videos, even if it is going to take about a year for you to make one that’s going to look any good!
Available for $1.99 for Apple devices. BitchBuzz app rating: 4/5 for being interesting and simple to use, even though it does feel like I’m cheating a bit.
