'Twitter for Good' by Claire Diaz Ortiz

If you’ve paid any attention to the likes of Twestival, how Twitter can help in times of crisis, or even if you just need to find a good restaurant nearby, you know that Twitter can use its powers for good. (We’ll ignore all of the spamming, phishing and trolls for now.)

Create a Book of Instagram Photos with Blurb

Analogue is making a comeback. Not only has everyone’s favourite photo-sharing app Instagram recently been given its first UK-based art show, but Blurb has also launched a service that turns your shots into a beautiful book that’s ideal for your coffee table.

How Do You Organize Your Inbox?

My inbox is a mess. I constantly see people tweeting about how their inbox is "finally down to zero" or how they’ve gotten it down to 10 emails. If I get 10 emails in my “priority inbox” from Googlemail I’m excited.I pay Google for more storage every year, and I use my inbox as a Rolodex and for reference. Who was it I met last week that emailed me about that thing? My inbox knows! I don’t worry about making sure I’ve organized my contact list, as surely I can just search for whatever ...

BlackBerry's New Service, BBM Music

BlackBerry may not be as cool as Android, and it may not have the same cultish following that the iPhone does, but BlackBerry are still my go-to brand for mobile phones. You either *get* BlackBerry, or you don't, but at the same time, BlackBerry users aren't under any delusions that the BlackBerry App World is anywhere near as fun as the Android Marketplace. But that doesn't stop BlackBerry from trying.

The Google+ Facebook Face-Off

The recent Facebook changes and the Google+ public opening inspire another round of complaint and aghast posts: Facebook is buzzing with it, of course. What irony?! And while there have been angry calls for a mass exodus to Google+, the crickets still chirp over there. Despite the irritation with Facebook's slightly creepy over-management, G+ continues to keep the barriers high to the non-tech savvy.

Lenovo: For Those Who Do

Lenovo is a brand that you not have ever haven’t heard of before, unless, that is, you’ve happened to notice one of their new “For Those Who Do” adverts at the cinema. However, Lenovo are one of the biggest PC and laptop companies in the world. On a commerical and corporate level their powerful (yet slightly clunky) ThinkPads and laptops are used by thousands (if not millions) of people across the world, and now they’re coming after you, dear consumer.

An Open Letter to the The NYT Crap App

Dear The New York Times,Blow me.You’re my homepage. You’re my hometown paper. You’re my homey. I spend hours a day reading current events. I spend hours a day walking around with my iPhone. I spend $15/month for unlimited digital access. So it’s really problematic for me when your iPhone application CRASHES MY PHONE EVERY TIME I TRY TO READ THE BLOODY NEWS.

TiVo: The Best Way to Watch TV

TiVo has been around for a long time. So long, in fact, that it's featured in a Sex and the City episode that aired in 2003. (Jules & Mimi forever!)In the UK, however, it is a brand new thing, brought to you by the folks at Virgin Media, and I couldn't me more frickin' excited about it. Sure all of you fancy Sky people have reined supreme when it came to recording shows in the past, but that's all about to...

Our Pick of the Best HDR Apps

Many photo apps are claiming to create great HDR images. But what exactly is HDR and which apps on the market actually deliver?HDR stands for 'high dynamic range imaging' and basically describes a few different techniques that are combined to create a final image that has a greater range of light and detail than usual.

Panasonic HX-WA10: One Tough Video Camera

With so much choice out there, it's hard to figure out which video camera to buy. Do you go for the small, cute and cheap one? Or the hefty and expensive one that the sales assistant unconvincingly promises will be worth it in the long run? I have to admit that I know very little about video cameras as I've always relied on other devices to capture quick snippets here and there, so I was excited to review the
