Two Big Reasons Why it's So Hard for Women In Tech

Whenever anyone asks me why I think that there are so few women at major tech events, like Le Web, I always try to make a big point of mentioning that "men are not the problem". Men are not the reason that there is not a higher number of female speakers at these things. Surely it's not the men in charge's fault that there are so few women turning up to male dominated tech events. It's not their fault we don't feel more entitled to go. It's not their problem; it's our problem and our ...

What I Took Away from Le Web (Aside From the Flu)...

Well, folks. While Le Web has nearly been over for a week, I'm just now getting to my round-up report of what went down. This is due to many things, like the WiFi and Ethernet connection being down most (if not all) of day two, and the fact that I seem to have caught the plague at the end of day one.

BitchBuzz @ LeWeb: Reactions From Day One

From what I can tell so far about LeWeb, is that there are a lot of pissed off bloggers and journalists of with  the lack of leWiFi. I was lucky enough to nab a table with an ethernet cable, but am thinking I’ll need to pee around my desk when/if I go grab some food as I just may lose it. The feeling in the room throughout the morning was a bit hard to gage as the doors were/are open and there’s cold air blasting throughout the building, despite the fact that it’s so cold outsid...

Tweetlet: Creepy or Cute?

Here at BitchBuzz HQ, we're not afraid to admit that we're addicted to twitter. But it seems like with twitter, you either get what its for or you don't, and for those who don't, it's almost impossible to explain the fascination. A new service recently launched for twitter: tweetlet, a way to get direct messages sent to you on twitter from your unborn baby. But is the service creepy or cute, and just what exactly does it send you?

Kick-Ass Websites: Touchnote

One of the new start-ups on my radar recently has been Touchnote, an online print company that is set to do for greetings cards what Moo did for its business equivalent. The company launched back in November, and I really should have given it due attention sooner - but a recently introduced charity Christmas initiative has turned my head again.

BitchBuzz @ LeWeb: Day One

I am extremely excited as I am currently in Paris, covering the fantastic LeWeb conference for BitchBuzz Tech.  Over the next two days I will be covering all of the fantastic goings on at what is probably the geekiest location in Paris, and will be trying to capture as much video as possible. (Which we will then, of course, ,be putting up on Seesmic.)

BitchBuzz TV: The London Bloggers Meetup

A couple weeks ago we had the pleasure of attending the London Bloggers Meetup, and had the fabulous opportunity to pick the brains of a few lovely London Bloggers. (And a couple of ex pat American Bloggers!) If you have yet to make it down to one of the London Bloggers Meetups - it's a good time. It's not a schmoozy London media event, it really is just filled with people who are both professional bloggers, as well as people w...
