SkyFire - a mobile web browser - is out of beta today with their latest software release. SkyFire aims to change the way we browse the web on our phones: making less about sites with special mobile versions, and more about the user experience.
More users are logging onto the web with mobile phones than ever before, and there is still a gap in mobile web browsers. They simply can't do everything. It looks like SkyFire is aiming to close...

Last week I attended the Media 140 conference, an afternoon of panel and speaker sessions dedicated to exploring the use of microblogging on various media industries.
One of the most interesting conversations for me was the 'speed vs. content' debate, and I actually saw this playing out as the afternoon went on.

The real title of this post should be "10 Tech things that make me laugh no matter how stupid they are and how many times I see them." That's kind of cumbersome, so I went with the above.
Below is a list of tried and true "techy" "geeky" things that are HI-LARIOUS! (Or, at least I think so.) Please enjoy!

With the mainstream blossoming of social media sites on the web, a lot of writers I know are tweeting, Facebooking, blogging, linking and commenting everywhere they possibly can in order to get the word out on their books. A book launch is no longer a quiet affair at a single comfy bookstore, but a cross-the-globe blitz that scorches everyone in its path with your project's brilliance and timeliness.

Have you ever had that feeling when there’s suddenly nothing to do online? There you spend your days (and nights) happily surfing along, reading your favourite blogs, obsessively checking Twitter, but then something happens. You’re bored. Running and gadgets never really seem to get on. Nike+ and the iPod seemed to do quite well, but if you don't like running with a big elastic band Velcroed to your flabby arm, or spending £100+ on trainers to fully appreciate the "Nike+ experience", it's probably not your cup of tea.

I’m back in Old Blighty after a trip to LA-la land, having had a fantastic time sampling in bite size chunks of everything California has to offer, and a few events like Mobile Geeks of LA & Tuttle LA.

I love gadgets. I get so excited by the prospect of a shiny new toy that once I have the idea of whatever it is in my head I can’t get it out. I’ve been this way ever since my eighth birthday when I was convinced that what I really needed at that point in my life was a Franklin Spellmaster – who knows why; I was pretty good at spelling.
