Today’s list of travel applications will reveal the glamorous hidden gems in cities you’ve never been to, help you clock up redeemable “air miles” oh and find the nearest toilet wherever in the world you happen to be…
Luxury luggage and fancy items brand Louis Vuitton has created the Amble application for the iPhone. It tracks your movements with GPS and allows users to take photos, notes and videos during their trips to different cities across the globe and use them to create their own mini guides.
It’s a way of keeping travel memories, sharing them with friends but also uncovering hidden gems and tips from watching guides created by other people. A few famous faces have already been drafted in to provide us with detailed tours around their favourite cities, so you can see Sofia Coppola’s guide to record shops in New York, or Rachel Weisz amble through London.
Available for free for Apple devices. BitchBuzz app rating 4/5 for being useful and having already made great examples with some of our favourite celebrities.

Samsonite’s Travel Miles app uses GPS to track your travel around the world and clock up the amount of miles you’ve covered.
You can share all of your trips online, but not only is this a great way to keep friends and relative in the know, you can also get discounts and giveaways from Samsonite the more miles you clock up.
There’s also a lot of other handy information available, like a constantly updated guide to baggage restrictions.
Available for Apple for Android devices. BitchBuzz app rating 3/5 obviously it’s perfect if you travel a lot, but if you’re only making the odd trip it might not be worth the effort.

This may seem like a fairly obvious app to include, but Google Maps is quite frankly amazing and is often taken for granted.
It’s available on most handsets and although everyone loves to criticise it and say that it doesn’t have their street or makes them turn the wrong way now and again, it’s pretty accurate to say how much data it can actually give you at any one time.
Available on all kinds of devices with GPS capability. BitchBuzz app rating 5/5 for being accurate, reliable and stopping me from getting completely lost and crying my eyes out on more than one occasion.
SitOrSquat

Like a small, annoying child I’m one of those people that always seems to need the toilet at the most inappropriate of times, which is why I’m sadly super excited about SitorSquat, a mobile app which tells you whereabouts the nearest toilet is, wherever you happen to be! The app will give you a map with little flags as to where the nearest restrooms are as well as details about when they’ll be open.
Available for free for Apple and Blackberry devices. I’m being generous today and giving this one another 5/5, purely because it’s so useful and there’s nothing else like it.
