It’s been a big 18 months for Jamie Oliver. He’s won the TED Prize, has had two new children brought in to the world, and now his cookbook Jamie’s 30-Minute Meals, has sold over 735,000 copies in just 10 weeks, making it the fastest selling non-fictoin title of all time.
Of. All. Time.
Despite Liz Jones (of all people) ranting about the “blatant commercialisation of his family” and criticism from people who see nothing wrong with eating at KFC, people bloody love Jamie Oliver. And so do I.
And now, naturally, Mr. Oliver has a Festive Feasts pack for his iPhone app to help you from imploding and/or having a massive panic attack in the kitchen on Christmas day.
The Festive Feasts recipe app includes a photo for every step of each recipe, what Jamie himself calls “preparation steps for Christmas Eve” so you have less to do on the 25th, plus, there’s even a video tutorial of Oliver showing us own special technique for carving up the Chiristmas bird.
The Festive Feasts pack does seem helpful, however, the entire app itself, which is free (plus the cost of add-on apps such as Festive Feasts), seems really useful and visually appealing – much like Nigella’s app.
If you’re a fan of Oliver, or cooking apps in general, Jamie’s Recipes with the Festive Feasts pack seems like the perfect helper in the kitchen. Much more useful than your cousin who doesn’t even know how to skin a potato.
