Please, just send me out to the firing range and kill me now. Teen singers Aly and Aj (who the hell are these chicks?) have teamed up with the creators of the Guitar Hero and Rock Band games to produce "Aly and Aj's girly guitars" so girls can rock out while playing Guitar Hero/Rock Band just as much as the boys can! Brain cell melting video after the jump.
You have two choices of "girly guitars": pink with red skull and crossbones or a pink heart-shaped guitar with purple zebra print.

What's next, you're going to tell me girls can't play the drums unless they're wearing a skirt and stilettos? Or - girls can't play the drums at all?
This is just disgusting. It's basically suggesting that Guitar Hero and Rock Band weren't for girls before, but now that they have cute and fuzzy pink guitars, girls can rock out (delicately!) just like boys.
We've said it before, and we'll say it again: making something pink is not an acceptable way to market devices towards women (and girls).
Do me a favor if you see this display in stores: knock it over, burn it down, spray it with graffiti... something, anything, to prevent these guitars from being sold. Because the sad part is they're going to fly off the shelves faster than a dress on prom night.
