If you’re a fan of hanging out in Starbucks, enjoying a hot drink and Twittering about how annoying all of your fellow coffee patrons are, you’re in luck.
Instead of having to access the Internet on your phone or pay out the wazoo to use Starbucks' WiFi, all you have to do now is sling £5 on Starbucks Rewards Card, register it online, and you can use the WiFi at any participating Starbucks store in the UK!
BT Openzone and Starbucks are now bringing high-speed wireless broadband to more than 650 WiFi enabled Starbucks coffeehouses, and in addition, BT Openzone O2 iPhone users also have access included within their contract. Not an O2 iPhone user? iPass, Boingo and other BT Openzone roaming partners will also be able to use the WiFi.
Much better than only T-Mobile users being able to enjoy WiFi at Starbucks, isn't it?
If free WiFi wasn’t enough reason for you to top-up and register a Starbucks Rewards Card, you're also treated to many other money saving benefits, such as:
- An extra 100% Fairtrade certified espresso shot
- Free flavoured syrup (regular and sugar-free)
- Free soy milk
- Free whipped cream
- Free Tall (12 fl oz) beverage of their choice with the purchase of one bag (250g) of Starbucks wholebean coffee
Nice, non?
Now, while most of you surely have a 3G dongle by now – sometimes using actual WiFi is just less hassle. It’s faster, free, and it means that you don’t have to worry about working downstairs or somewhere that doesn’t exactly get the best reception in the world.
Personally, I’d much rather work in a Starbucks that has free WiFi with the purchase of a £5 gift card, than in a McDonalds or any other venue that has free WiFi. (Unless it was Buckingham Palace and I was served tea and cake. Only then will I stop hanging out in Starbucks.)
