Defy's Laptop Bags Made From Old Vinyl Billboards

By Cate Sevilla

We've been keeping our eyes out for fantastic laptop bags for a good 10 months or so, and it's rare that we find bags that aren't hideous.

Not to go all Della on you, but it is safe to say that we all want attractive yet practical bags to carry our laptops around in. (Especially if you work remotely and your laptop is, essentially, your traveling office.)

Violet Blue recently blogged about these fantastic Defy Bags, and we're absolutely in love with them. Each one is hand sewn, and made from old vinyl billboards.

Their process for making these bags is amazing, and actually quite involved as first they have to find and collect the old vinyl billboards, then they take the vinyl through a multi-step cleaning process that includes a nice, cleansing organic bath and power spray.

Next, they draft the pattern of your bag, and then snip, cut and sew the materials together. It's all finished off with the design of the outer-flap of the messenger bag -which you choose from their website, email the design team a suggestion, or even design your own.

Sweet, huh?

Some of the designs for the messenger bags you can find on the site are absolutely amazing, and we would love to have any one of the following as our own!

Defy Bags - Hand-Sewn, Messenger Bags

1. "Very Personally Yours" Tramp Bag

2. "Deadly Sexy" Deady Bag

3. "Delinquent" Bag

4. "Chaos" Bag

5. "Her Little Secret" Secret Bag

6. "The Naughty Girl" Naughty Bag

All bags come in three different size. Small ($115), medium ($120) and large ($125).
