Apple & Mulberry: A Geek Chic Match Made in Heaven

By Laura Yates

Though I hate the fact that when you think of girls and gadgets, images of hot pink and sparkly iphones or pink Dell laptops seem to immediately spring to mind.

However, I do think that where a nice bit of tech equipment is concerned, a nice bit of presentation certainly doesn’t go amiss.

That is exactly why Apple and Mulberry have teamed up to create a range of goodies designed specifically carry or protect Apple gadgets. The nine piece collection comprises of laptop bags, laptop sleeves and mini cross-body bags for the MacBook, MacBook Pro, iPhone, iPod, and iPod Nano.

In typical Mulberry style, these come in a range of classic and chic Mulberry staple colours such as tan brown and black as well as some more dare I say, ‘girly’ designs including hot pink and animal print style bags and cases.

On the exterior these Mulberry beauties have the aesthetic of the iconic favourites including the Bayswater for women and the Brynmore for men but the inside is where the action happens with gadget friendly features such as padded laptop sections, phone and music player pockets and even eyelet holes for headphone access.

If you are like me and your bag resembles a make-up, notebook, phone and headphone demolition site, then these Mulberry wonders may just be a good (though expensive way) of taking much better care of your beloved belongings as you can also use them as an everyday bag. I’m therefore assuming that you can also use them for non-Apple gadgets too.

Apparently Apple products are too aesthetically beautiful to be hidden in more....generic type bags (if also like me, you have been known to carry your laptop in a Dotty P’s carrier bag) and that is why Mulberry wanted to partner with Apple as the two companies share an exceptional high level of craftsmanship and thus it seemed like the ideal luxury collaboration.

Well, I do love Apple and I also love Mulberry. Can I afford either? Not really, but with the various bags priced between £150 and £750 then at least I may be able to adorn my iPod Nano in Mulberry beauty. Maybe.

The new collection is available in Mulberry stores from November 1st and on Mulberry.com from December 1st.
